The Speakers of the Democratic National Convention

Carrollton GA- The 2024 Democratic National Convention got underway Monday, August 19th, and lasted until August 22nd, with a full schedule of events and speakers, including President Joe Biden, and Former President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.

President Biden delivered a speech “passing the torch” to Vice President Harris.

The very next day, Former President Barack Obama then re-endorsed Vice President Harris and running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in his own speech.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama addressed the convention, and discussed the “dimming of hope” in the country, and noted that it was making a comeback.

Likely, referencing the possible candidacy of the first Female President.

A portion of the evening was spent discussing Vice President Harris’ past as a prosecutor and her rise to the seat she resides in now.

The next day’s highlight was Governor Tim Walz addressing the people in his own speech, and discussing his own background as a veteran and educator.

He addressed Former President Trump and the Republican party by saying that they were responsible for banning books in schools, whilst the Democratic party “banished hunger” in theirs.

Walz then restated Harris’ policies on taxes and homeownership, “If you’re a middle class family or a family trying to get into the middle class, Kamala Harris is going to cut your taxes,” he continued, “If you’re hoping to buy a home, Kamala Harris is going to help make it more affordable”

He briefly stated his dissatisfaction with his opponent’s, Trump and Governor Vance’s campaign, referring to it as “weird” and “wrong”.

Governor Walz also accepted his nomination, thanking Vice President Harris.

As the final day came and went, Vice President Harris addressed the people of America.

Harris addressed Former President Trump, mentioning his public legal situations, before blaming him for the updated policies on abortion and women’s healthcare.

She continued with what she named “the chaos and calamity when he was in office.”

Harris then restated her policies, like her running mate, Tim Walz did, specifically that of foreign policy, relaying the message that she “has common sense” and would be “realistic,” seemingly as a counter to Former President Trump’s position of her being “too liberal.”

Vice President Harris emphasized the idea of a nation pre-2020, and repeated her new mantra for her campaign, “We are not going back.”

She highlighted freedom as a highly important aspect of her campaign, as she voiced her desire to reshape systems that she felt had done a disservice to the American people.

Harris accepted her candidacy, solidifying her as the Democratic Nominee of the 2024 Election.
