If you haven’t seen my previous article about this topic, then you may know that this blog post was coming (shocker, right?). I think that I owe a follow up to the previous blog post, so here we go. I have some thoughts about the film clearly so let’s get going.
I think that the documentary was exactly what it needed to be for fans and for people that aren’t fans of Miss Swift. I think that it did a good job of covering all aspects of her career, including the ups and downs, remember #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty? It was represented very real and raw, as she got very emotional during this.
I also think that Kanye’s part in the documentary was key to completing the other parts following it. I like that she did not waste a whole lot of time on him during the film, as the narrative did not include him. What was said was facts of course, so I was proud that she did put her side of the story on there with him because it was important to let everyone know how he has treated her in the media and outside of it.
She also included parts of her in the recording studio recording her songs, and I liked that. Her process in the studio is unique and she was still able to get across her lyrics and what she wanted to say, so to those who are not currently fans of her, it shows them that side of her and how real the feelings are that are portrayed in her music. She also released a new song for the movie about how she felt about the election, which is just so amazing how she is still able to use her platform to voice her thoughts about how people should go out and vote.
So to wrap this up, I truly think that you should watch the film. Whether you are a fan or not, you will enjoy the film. It’s not what you think it’s going to be, but that is a good thing. A very good thing in fact, but there is something that is just so inspiring about the film after you finish it. I will probably watch it again today, but in the meantime, I will leave you with these thoughts.
