Sophie’s Top 10

My taste in music is pretty much all over the place, but I noticed that, while in quarantine, most of the songs I have been listening to are songs that made me happy when I was not in quarantine. So, I consulted my Spotify and Apple Music to find my most-listened-to songs and compiled a list of some of my favorites.

  1. Just The Same – Charlotte Lawrence: I discovered this song in the car right before spring break, and it’s been one of my favorite songs ever since.
  2. Light On – Maggie Rogers: This is one of my favorite summer songs. It makes me want to hand my head out of a car window and watch the sunset.
  3. I Like Me Better – Lauv: Talk about a SUMMER SONG! This song makes me think of my friends and good times, and never fails to put me in a good mood. I can’t wait to blast it in the car with them once this is all over.
  4. Erase August – Chloe Gilligan: I am so lucky to be able to call Chloe a friend! She is one of the most talented people I have ever met and this song is one of my favorites of all time. Someone put this song in a movie ASAP.
  5. Clearly – Grace Vanderwaal: I have been a fan of Grace since she was on America’s Got Talent. During a time when everything feels uncertain and scary, this song gives me a sense that everything is going to be alright.
  6. Acid Rain – Thomston: Another classic summer song, and a message all of us can relate to.
  7. Fake Friends – Sigrid: I rediscovered this song while listening to some of my playlists from early college. Kind of angry, but upbeat and fun to sing along to if you’re feeling it.
  8. motherlove – Bea Miller: Another song to sing along to when you’re angry. One of my favorites. Explicit, but it’s fine.
  9. Fortress – Lennon Stella: I remember watching Lennon and her sister on YouTube when I was in middle school, and I love her even more now.
  10. The Middle – Zedd, Maren Morris, Grey: An absolute CLASSIC summer song to close us out. I know this song was overplayed but HEAR ME OUT just listen to it at full volume in your car with the windows down and I promise it will make you smile.
