Falcons season update: trades and team injuries

It seems that all that can go wrong has gone wrong for the 1-6 Atlanta Falcons but we may have not faced the worst just yet.

During Sunday’s home game Falcon’s star Quarterback Matt Ryan rolled his ankle playing against the LA rams defense and eventually had to leave the game early because of the injury. The verdict is still out on if he will play in Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks or not.

With Matt Ryan out, backup quarterback, Matt Schaub, will be the starting quarterback on Sunday.

“Schaub has played in 150 games and made 92 starts, but none since 2015 when he was in Baltimore. He has a 47-45 record overall starter” (Ledbetter, www.ajc.com)

On top of the Quarterback drama, the Falcons also made a big trade this week sending wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2nd row draft pick in the 2020 draft.

Twitter erupted Monday morning with Falcons fans either excited for their fan-favorite wide receiver to get the opportunity of a possible Superbowl ring and others upset with the Falcons decision to let the WR go.

Regardless if you agree with the decisions the Falcons are making or not, they are definitely switching things around in this organization, only halfway through the season. I am sure there will be more trades in store.
