Wolves Don’t Waste: Making Every Bite Count at UWG

College life is busy. Between classes, work, and trying to squeeze in some kind of social life, it’s easy to grab food, eat what you can, and toss the rest without a second thought. But at the University of West Georgia, there’s a group of students who are rethinking that cycle, and they’ve turned it into a movement called Wolves Don’t Waste.

Location

Located in the campus center near the game room, behind the rock climbing wall on the first floor, the idea is simple but powerful: cut down on food waste while giving back to the community. Instead of leftover meals from dining halls being thrown away, members of the club collect, repackage, and deliver them to local organizations and people in need. What could have ended up in the trash instead becomes dinner for someone who might not know where their next meal is coming from.

What It’s About

It’s not just about food though, it’s about awareness. Wolves Don’t Waste wants students to realize that every choice adds up. Wasting food means wasting money, resources, and even the hard work of the people who grew and prepared it. By stepping in, the club reminds us that a simple act like saving a plate of pasta can have a ripple effect far beyond campus.

What makes this club especially cool is how hands on it is. You’re not just sitting in meetings talking about change, you’re actually making it happen. Volunteering with Wolves Don’t Waste means rolling up your sleeves, working with other students, and seeing real impact in the community.

Being A Wolf

In a way, it fits perfectly with the spirit of UWG. Wolves look out for each other, and this club shows that the pack doesn’t stop at the edge of campus. So next time you’re feeling hungry, or have a friend who may be, think about Wolves Don’t Waste. Because it’s not just eating, it’s making every bite count.
