Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and the University of West Georgia is preparing to welcome voters to West Commons for the 2026 midterm elections.
In an email to the campus community, UWG Parking and Transportation announced that West Commons will serve as a precinct voting location. Some parking spaces will be reserved to accommodate voters, and students, faculty and staff should expect increased traffic in the area throughout the day.
Anyone traveling near West Commons should allow extra time to reach their destination and watch for pedestrians. The university thanked the campus community for its patience and cooperation as it works with local officials to accommodate voters.
For those planning to vote Tuesday, Georgia polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. will still be allowed to vote. Voters should bring an accepted form of photo identification.
Before heading to the polls, visit the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page to check your registration status, confirm your assigned polling location and review your sample ballot.
Having a polling location on campus does not mean all UWG students and employees can vote there. West Commons will serve voters assigned to that precinct, so checking your location ahead of time is essential.
