Marcus Elder Jr. and Mariah Gonzales Crowned UWG’s 2026 Homecoming King and Queen

CARROLLTON, Ga. — The University of West Georgia celebrated another memorable Homecoming as Marcus Elder Jr. and Mariah Gonzales were crowned the university’s 2026 Homecoming King and Queen.

The announcement came during UWG’s Homecoming festivities, marking a special moment for the two students and the university community.

This year’s Homecoming theme, “Back to the Future,” brought students, alumni, faculty and friends together for a week filled with school spirit, campus traditions and opportunities to celebrate what it means to be a West Georgia Wolf.

For Elder and Gonzales, being named Homecoming King and Queen represents a memorable milestone in their college experience. The titles are among the most recognizable honors associated with Homecoming, celebrating students who represent their university community.

Throughout Homecoming week, UWG students had opportunities to participate in a variety of activities designed to build excitement ahead of Saturday’s football game. From community service opportunities to campus celebrations, the festivities encouraged students to connect with one another while showing their Wolves pride.

The crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen remains one of the week’s most anticipated traditions. For many students, the announcement is more than simply recognizing two individuals. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the friendships, experiences and memories that make college life special.

As UWG continues to grow and create new traditions, Homecoming remains an important reminder of the university’s strong sense of community.

With their new titles, Marcus Elder Jr. and Mariah Gonzales now become part of UWG’s Homecoming history, joining the students who have received the honor in previous years.

Congratulations to the 2026 Homecoming King and Queen, and Go West! Go Wolves!
