In Skip Fite’s first nine seasons as the head coach of UWG Baseball the Wolves were 226-225. His 900th career NCAA victory was picked up during a 13 and 0 start in 2018. Fite’s best season was in 2016 in which the Wolves finished the season 42-16 which earned them a trip to the NCAA South Regional which was in Tampa, Florida. That postseason appearance made Fite’s Wolves their first appearance since 1998 and in that year they went 3 and 2.
Fite’s 2018 squad finished that season with a 32 and 18 record. That record sent them to the Gulf South Conference Tournament. Cade Marlowe and Price Peters were All-GSC and All-Region champions. Brian Dansereau was selected to be a part of the GSC All-tournament team. That team had three players that went on to play professional baseball. In the 33rd round of 2016 MLB First Year Player Draft, the St. Louis Cardinals drafted Caleb Lopes. In 2017, Artemis Kadkhodian signed with the Los Angeles Angels. Cade Marlowe is the latest edition to the list being selected in the 20th round to the Seattle Mariners in 2019.
