4-21-16 The Afternoon Growl – Finals Week

On Thurday April 21st’s episode of the Afternoon Growl, the topic of discussion was every college student’s least favorite time of year: finals week. This is the most dreaded yet most important time of the semester and it can be easy to get filled with anxiety & become overwhelmed.
Because we are all students we each know the pain of letting finals week get the best of us, but do you ever stop and think about how you can make this a smooth and less painful experience? SUNY gave a list of “Scientifically, The Best Way To Prepare For Final Exams”:
1. Say NO to cramming
2. Say YES to cardio
3. Eat superfoods/antioxidants
4. Alternate study spot
5. Time management
6. Avoid the all-nighter
7. MINIMIZE distractions
8. MAXIMIZE practice-testing
These are just some ways to help reduce the stress that final exams may bring. We also put a lot of emphasis on the importance of getting enough sleep. Sometimes we college students think energy drinks are the answer but our bodies still need that rest time in order to perform at its best.
